CIFC’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote school readiness among children from low-income families and serve as beacons of hope for children in both Danbury and Norwalk. National studies have demonstrated the profound impact that these programs have on children’s learning outcomes, and on the pivotal role they play in shaping our communities for the future. Children who participate in CIFC’s early education programs experience significant gains in cognitive skills, social- emotional development, and overall kindergarten readiness – and we are proud of their success!

One of the most compelling aspects of CIFC’s Head Start is our holistic approach to child development that includes: education, health, nutrition, and family support. Our integrated approach fosters a nurturing environment where our children thrive because they are provided with the tools they need for success in life. Similarly, the emphasis we place on parent involvement ensures that our families are engaged to the fullest degree – reinforcing positive outcomes and creating a ripple effect with our communities.

At CIFC, we know that investing in early childhood education is a strategic investment in the future. By providing children with a strong foundation, we narrow the achievement gap and foster equity, and as we look to the future, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that all of our children, regardless of background, have access to early childhood care and education that sets them apart from their peers.
